Top Kitchen Trends For 2025

Top Kitchen Trends For 2025
New year, new you, new kitchen! Every year, we take the time to look ahead and forecast the biggest trends we anticipate for the coming calendar year. From what we are seeing in the industry, 2025 is going to be one with a focus on daring colour use, workable layouts, feature piece materials and added functionality.

So read below as we take you through the biggest kitchen trends for 2025 and how you could integrate them into your next renovation project. As always, remember that our fully qualified design team is on hand and ready to help you with any questions and point you in the right direction to make these trends a reality.

Bold Jewel Colours

Blue and White

GREEN AND WHITE

GREY AND WHITE

While a stark white kitchen might have been the favourite for previous years, we are seeing more and more of our clients opting for bright, bold colours to take centre stage. The kitchen is where most families spend most of their time, so it makes sense that it accurately represents you and your tastes. More than just pops of colour, we predict full-colour drenching across cabinets and walls.

Want to go one step further? Why not choose an intense contrasting colour for your accessories and kitchen gadgets to really make the colours pop.

The 'Dirty' Kitchen

Butler / Laundry

BUTLER PANTRY

BUTLER PANTRY

A trend that is still getting more popular due to its practicality and great use of space.  Classified most simply as a butler's pantry or walk-in pantry with a sink, a 'Dirty' or 'Workhorse' kitchen, is the secret to maintaining a tidy kitchen whilst entertaining. We anticipate more and more new projects will include this clever design feature that allows you to get the most out of your workable space by keeping the messier parts of food prep and dining out of sight from the main kitchen space.

This feature is especially handy as our kitchens increasingly become the default dining and entertaining areas. What to add to your 'Dirty' kitchen? A dishwasher, open shelving and places for all the bulky items like blenders and food processors will free up a lot of space from the main room.  Even combining the laundry into the pantry is a wonderful trend.

Feature lights

While recessed downlights are great for getting the job done and can be a cost-effective way to light up any room, we predict an uptick in the number of new kitchens installed that are holding space aside for a feature pendant light. Usually featured over the kitchen island or dining table, a pendant light is a great way to add mood to the room. Pro tip: choose a warm yellow dimmable light that you can use on its own when the prep time is over and it's time to dine and relax. Pendant lights also make a great way to delineate the space and separate your eating and cooking zones. You can choose almost any shape and material for a feature pendant light: paper lantern, ceramic light shade, and glass and steel. We predict pendant lights will have one of the most significant impacts on new kitchens in 2025.

Dramatic Splashbacks: Porcelain, Stone & Brick

BRICK SPLASHBACK

STOBE SPLASHBACK

STONE SPLASHBACK

PORCELAIN SPLASHBACK

In a room often called the heart of the home, the heart of the kitchen is generally the main workspace benchtop. For such a high-traffic essential area, we foresee a LOT of dramatic stonework in the future. While previous design tastes have opted for subtle stonework with minimal patina for 2025, the impactful veiny stone, porcelain and even brick work is in.

The durability of porcelain & stone has always made it a kitchen favourite. Still, now we are seeing more of the once-thought-of 'imperfections' like strong veins, and the varied colour spreads within the stone become even more requested for the year ahead. Want to show off your stone even more? Why not extend your benchtop stone up the wall as a splashback?
