Installation vs DIY
Installation vs DIY
We all love choice, and with Kitchens U Build that’s exactly what you get when taking on your next renovation project. Not only do you get to pick from our vast range of options in materials, colours and finishes, but also you can choose how your kitchen, laundry or wardrobe is installed. You may want to take on the job yourself, but why not let our skilled, experienced team take away the stress and install it for you. In this blog, we walk you through the key things to think about when deciding whether to DIY or let us handle the installation…
Can you put a price on peace of mind?
With any home renovation job or construction project, creating a budget and ensuring you stick to it is a real challenge. One way to minimise your expenses is by running the project yourself, which while saving you money may cost you a great deal of time and effort.
While this might be worth it for a small job, a larger project will mean a considerable commitment to install yourself, plus you’ll need the skills to ensure it's done right. On the other hand, while installation may cost you more (approximately $2,000 to $5,000), if you choose to have our expert team install the kitchen for you, it means you get peace of mind knowing it's done to our incredibly high standard, and will last for years to come – not to mention the time, warranties and stress savings you’ll benefit from as you sit back while we do the work for you.
Ready for some hard yakka?
Installing a full kitchen, laundry, or wardrobe is a significant task, especially if you decide to do it yourself. While DIY installation can save you money, it’s important to consider the effort required to complete the project.
In addition to assembling the cabinetry and benchtops, drawers, internals and hardware, you’ll also have to have the know how to handle connections and coordinate with professionals for plumbing and electrical work. All of this means a lot of effort for you, planning and gathering everything you need before you even start, then finding the energy to make sure you complete your install, and that’s if you have already found the tradespeople you need.
If you choose to have the Kitchens U Build team handle the installation for you, we will manage the installation of the project, help with the project management of other trades, and ensure everything is exactly how you want it – as well as make sure your project meets our incredibly high standards.
Have you got the skills to see it through?
Self-installation can be challenging, and we've seen many clients bite off more than they can chew in the past. Installing your new kitchen, laundry, or wardrobe requires more than just having the tools and familiarity with flatpack furniture. Our kitchens are not flatpack; they require some knowledge and equipment, precision and know-how to install. That’s why we provide detailed instructions and CAD drawings to assist you through the process, and you can also visit our website for helpful installation how-to videos.
To make things even easier for you, we also offer you the option to choose your level of involvement. If you decide to self-install, we’re more than happy to offer any tips and advice to ensure you get the job done correctly. Plus, if you find yourself in need of some help at any stage, we can take over the installation for you. Then for ultimate convenience, there’s always the option to let us manage the installation from start to finish.
If you want to use your own electrican or plumber, we can do this also along with suppying your own benchtops, handles or other products you want to incorporate into your build. KUB offer a selection of trades you can use and pay direct to save you on the installation cost. CHOICE IS YOURS.
With Kitchens U Build, it's your home, your choice. When it comes time to install, whether you choose to install yourself or want our qualified team to help, you’ll get the benefit of our many years of experience to ensure the job is done right.
